Cisco DNA Center version 1.2 will support Cisco SD-Access Extension for IoT using extended nodes for the distributed campus and extended enterprise. This will allow customers to connect multiple sites across a metro region into a single fabric domain to help ensure end-to-end policy and segmentation.
Extended nodes are Cisco switching products not found in the wiring closet that extend the SD-Access fabric and are treated as part of the fabric. This means all workflows, security policies, and automation are still available to the network administrator.
Customers can now deploy a single Cisco DNA Center plane of glass to manage connectivity and policy across multiple sites within a single fabric. Extending SD-Access supports the need of network administrators faced with an increasing number of IoT devices being added to the network. With SD-Access Extension for IoT, IT can set centralized policy for IoT endpoints, further securing vulnerabilities.
