Deep learning, a subfield of machine learning concerned with algorithms inspired by brain neural networks, is expected to exceed more than $18 Billion by 2024 at a CAGR of 42%. We will discuss the latest developments in the field of machine learning and deep learning and the business opportunities currently being monetized. Critically, we will discuss the vast green field opportunities for deep learning which have yet to be explored. We will then dive into key limitations of deep learning and machine learning which will help ensure successful application of the technology. Finally, we will wrap-up with a new approach to solving the limitations of ML/DL by leveraging new types of learning by reasoning technologies and causal modeling techniques. We will discuss existing Cisco products as well as ongoing Cisco R&D covering IoT, Networking, and Natural Language Agents.
